School Climate Project

The School Climate Project Team

Dickon Pownall-Gray is the President and Founder of the Surviving Bullies Charity.  He has been a professional businessman all his life.  He worked at Bain & Company in London, as a senior consultant, and went on to be the CEO of both Health Care Systems, Inc. and CareSys Inc.  He founded, and later sold, two other businesses.  For the last 6 years, he has dedicated himself to helping bullied children avoid the suffering that he endured as a child growing up in England.  His dream is to make the School Climate Project national, in order to find, and help, targets of bullying across the country.

Kiki Cahn has also been a professional businesswoman all her life.  She went to Harvard University and received an MBA from London Business School.  She had upper management positions at both an international steel trading company and in customer service for the Danbury Mint.  She joined the School Climate Project in order to help make the world a better place for our children to grow up.

Joshua Reagan recently graduated from the University of Connecticut where he majored in Mathematics and French.  He is excited to be a part of the Surviving Bullies Charity where he works on software and reporting aspects of the project.  He plans on continuing his education with the goal of becoming a professor in Mathematics.

Shan Shan Jiang was seriously bullied in the New Haven, CT school system. Shan Shan’s experience was particularly difficult because she had just moved from mainland China.  At the time, she spoke relatively poor English and was foreign to the culture.  Shan Shan found the courage to speak out about her bullying experiences as a panelist for the Anti-Defamation League’s High School Anti-Bullying program Names Can Really Hurt Us. After graduating from Yale University with a B.A. in Sociology, Shan Shan dedicated two years to working full-time on the Surviving Bullies Project before attending medical school.  She hopes to implement the insights and strategies gained from her time at the Project into her future clinical practice.

Dicken Chaplin is a freshman at Williams College.  After completing high school in his native England, he took a year off to work on programming the database for the School Climate Project.  He is also featured in some of the videos in the Surviving Bullies Video Book.

Jose Espinosa is a sophomore at Amherst College majoring in Religion and English or Psychology. He helped produce (and played a starring role in) a video about the School Climate Project.  All students participating in the project will see this video as their introduction to the project.  Jose is planning on pursuing a career in medicine after college.
